I have been in the insurance business in Florida for 42 years. A great deal of that time has been involved with Automobile Insurance. I have seen firsthand how vitally important Uninsured Motorists is in our State. Unfortunately there is a great deal of misunderstanding as to why this essential protection is necessary. Many consumers believe if they have Medicare or Health Insurance they don’t need UM.
I applaud Jim Dodson for educating the public as to the fundamental importance of this crucial automobile insurance option not only to drivers, but to pedestrians and cyclists as well. Please read his book Uninsured Motorist Coverage – Don’t Leave Home Without It! It lays out the truth every Floridian should know. Jim’s right, none of us should leave home without it.

Jim, Thank you. My wife and I have read all your materials that we are keeping handy for reference if needed. I have checked our auto policies and we do, as I thought, have UM (uninsured motorist) coverage. Although I cancelled umbrella policies we had during my active working years, we discontinued them. I'm following through to open a new policy to supplement our coverage as you suggested. Please add us to your newsletter mailing list.
