A 77-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car and killed in Riverview on Monday afternoon. According to a report in the Tampa Bay Times, the pedestrian was walking east on Lake St. Charles Boulevard when she decided to cross U.S. 301. While in the crosswalk, the pedestrian was struck by a 26-year-old driver.
The Riverview pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries. The motorist and five passengers in the vehicle walked away from the accident unharmed. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
