Motorcyclist and Passenger were Seriously Injured in Rear End Crash in Sarasota

Last week, The Bradenton Herald reported the driver of a 2012 Toyota Camry was traveling south on I-75 in Sarasota, south of the Laurel Road exit when she had a rear end collision with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured in the crash.

According to the news article, the woman who struck the bike drove for some distance with the motorcycle wedged in the front of her vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were wearing helmets, which hopefully protected them from head injury. The Cape Coral couple was transported by air to a Bradenton hospital for medical treatment.

The driver responsible for the accident was not injured. She said she did not see the motorcycle. Motorcycle crashes with cars are many times caused by negligent drivers who fail to yield the right of way, change lanes without looking, turn into a cyclist’s path or say they never saw the motorcycle. The woman was cited for careless driving.

After a motorcycle accident, it is best to reach out to an experienced Sarasota injury lawyer who can begin a prompt investigation of the circumstances of the crash. A knowledgeable attorney will look for every possible source of insurance to help the injured person receive compensation for medical bills or expenses related to the accident.
