Jim Dodson has always been a leader in the professional community including having served as a past president of the Clearwater Bar Association. Currently, Jim is proud to serve as the president of the Pinellas Mid-County Bar Association, a voluntary association of local attorneys in various practice areas who meet for lunch, camaraderie, and inspiration. Its mission is to promote both collegiality and knowledge among members of the legal profession.
Hosted by the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club in Belleair, the Mid-County Bar Association meets on the fourth Thursday of every month. It provides an opportunity for members of the local legal community to engage with each other and to keep informed about events, activities, and issues from other professionals, business owners, and community leaders in Pinellas County who are invited to speak to the group. Jim arranges for a different speaker every month.
In June, State Representative Jim Frishe addressed the association. Past speakers have included the owner of Bella Vino Wine shop in Belleair, a representative of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, the Vice President of Field Ministries for the Southern Region of Young Life Organization, a spokesperson from the Clearwater Jazz Festival, Circuit Judges, and other keynote speakers. Jim even addressed the group himself at one meeting, in which he gave a presentation on Napoleon Hill’s, Think and Grow Rich, one of the most influential books of all time dealing with personal success.
