I’m a pretty avid cyclist and I was cycling here in March with a group like we usually do with the Florida Freewheelers. I was involved in a vehicle bicyclist accident which was totally the vehicles fault and my left hand was crushed.
Soon after the accident, I knew that this gentleman had been in the wrong and I was in for some long recovery time and surgery. My accident got announced on the Florida Freewheeler’s Facebook page and I very quickly got a message from our past president Stuart that I needed to contact Jim Dodson.
Even though Jim lives on the opposite side of the state you would never know it. His office would always respond immediately by phone or email whichever I chose to communicate. I never felt like I was put off at all. I felt like I was the most important case of the day.
He immediately took over the case and I never had to speak to the insurance adjuster or any of the people on the other side of the case. And, I was very confident in having Jim as my attorney because he is a cyclist. He’s been cycling for many years and someone who doesn’t cycle wouldn’t really be able to understand what it’s like to be out there on the road, in traffic and dealing with drivers. Having him be a cyclist really reassured me that I was making the right choice.
I ended up with a very nice settlement, much more than I ever expected but I mainly wanted the driver to know that you can’t drive like that and treat a cyclist like that and walk away and point the finger at them.
I couldn’t even imagine facing that on my own. I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to. I don’t think I would have even tried. It would have been impossible without Jim knowing how to handle this case.
So, if you’re a cyclist anywhere in the state of Florida and you’re involved in any type of crash that caused you an injury please don’t hesitate to call Jim. He can totally help you no matter where you are and no matter what the case is. And, he will let you know right up front what you’re dealing with and what to expect. And, he has done enough of these that he knows what he’s talking about.
Each case is different and past results do not necessarily indicate future results.Kathie
