Jim Dodson has deep roots in Florida. He grew up in Sanford, just north of Orlando. He was raised in a household with three boys. His dad worked very hard and his Mom stayed home to raise the children. Jim shares memories of what it was like growing up in a small town and the freedom he enjoyed along with the strong work ethic he learned at an early age.
Jim met his wife, Pam, while they were students at Florida State University. Jim talks about one of the greatest privileges he's enjoyed aside from being her husband, as being the father of their two children. Cherished memories for Jim are the times he spent with his children, attending their athletic games and all of their activities as they were growing up.
Jim and his wife have always been very active in their church. He is a long standing member of a non-denominational bible study group called the Thursday Morning Men’s Fellowship. From this group, came an opportunity to become involved with Isaiah's Inn where Jim has served on the board for many years. Isaiah’s Inn is a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep families intact after a financial crisis by offering assistance to help them get back on their feet economically.
Twelve years ago, Jim was the managing partner of a successful, well established Clearwater law firm. However, he was not happy professionally because of the large volume of cases he was handling. After some time, Jim made a decision with the encouragement and support of his wife to leave the practice and open his own office.
In 2001, Jim’s vision of a better way to serve his clients became a reality.Jim founded Jim Dodson Law because he wanted the time to develop a personal relationship with every client he represented and to be able to give each client's case the attention it deserved. This is exactly what he would want for a member of his own family. This is the law practice Jim enjoys today and the reason he loves coming to the office. Clients see Jim as more than just their lawyer. He is a friend and trusted resource for guidance and any future legal needs they might have.
