Message To Parents About Bicycle Helments
Hi, it’s Jim Dodson. I’m a personal injury lawyer in Clearwater. People in the bicycle world know me as The Florida Bike Guy.
I want to talk to the Moms and Dads out there, the casual rider. You have children and you like to take the kids for a ride in the neighborhood or maybe on the trail. We all know that children under the age of sixteen are required to wear a helmet and I see people with their kids and their kids are wearing their helmets, but what I don’t see are the parents wearing helmets themselves.
I would tell you in my work as a cyclist and my involvement with bike clubs throughout Florida, no bicycle club will allow a member to ride unless they have a helmet on. And, they do that because helmets protect lives. They keep you from having a brain injury or a concussion. They make all the difference in the event that the unexpected happens. And, the unexpected can happen at some point.
So, Moms and Dads get the helmet on! Set a good example for your kids and protect yourself and your family from an unexpected, tragic event.
That’s all today from The Florida Bike Guy… thank you so much!
