How Long Do I Have to Bring a Case After Someone Dies in a Cycling Crash?

Video Transcription:
At Jim Dodson Law, we work with a lot of cyclists and a lot of cyclist's families. But clearly, the most difficult cases that we handle are those involving the tragic and unexpected death of a cyclist in an accident.

In addition to having to deal with the emotional burden that the family is going through, there's a shorter period of time to bring the case. A wrongful death case has to be brought within two years of the date of the death. This is a shorter period of time than other accident cases. This is why it is important to begin working with a lawyer soon so all the steps necessary to pursue the case and investigate it properly are taken by the family in that two year time period.
