What is the Time Limit to Bring a Case After Someone Dies in a Car Wreck in Florida?

Video Transcription:
Most families that have a lost a loved one in a car wreck are not ready to speak with a lawyer and make the decisions necessary to move forward on a civil claim. But, unfortunately there is a shorter time period in which the claim can be brought in Florida.

The time period after someone dies in a car accident is two years. This doesn't mean the family needs to immediately speak with an attorney but they should move forward fairly soon after the death of their loved one so that the lawyer has plenty of time to do the investigation while the evidence is fresh and present the claim in a timely fashion.
