How to Know if Someone Suffered a Brain Injury

Video Transcription:
Brain injuries can actually be suffered from something minor. It doesn't require a traumatic event that puts someone in a hospital. A brain injury is really just an interruption of normal brain function. And when it happens because you have had some type of trauma, like falling or you've hit your head in a car accident, it's referred to as a traumatic brain injury or TBI.

In order to know if someone has suffered a brain injury, only one of the following four things should have occurred:

  1. Loss of a specific nerve function.
  2. Knocked unconscious.
  3. Dazed or confused.
  4. Don't have the ability to remember the events before or perhaps after.
