What Should You Do if One of Your Family Members Died in a Bicycle Accident?

Video Transcription:
Every family handles tragedies and adversities differently. We have met with one person who naturally comes forward and acts on behalf of everyone in the family and we’ve met other times with an entire family together. Sometimes it’s on the telephone with someone out of state or they come to our office.

These are personal decision which the family will have to come to grips with. But, ultimately as the family moves forward in order to initiate what needs to be done for the recovery for the death of a loved one, the court will nominate or will ask one member of the family to step forward and be the personal representative of the estate. This the person with the legal responsibility to make the important decisions, sign the important papers and do what is necessary in order to hold the person who caused this accident responsible.

I think it’s comforting for the family to simply understand what will happen in the future so they can be confident in making the decisions together so they can move forward.
