When Can a Pedestrian Stand or Walk in the Road?

Video Transcription:
In Florida we have a lot of safety laws that have been created to protect pedestrians, particularly against cars, trucks and other vehicles. But pedestrians also have some responsibilities themselves. So, when can a pedestrian stand or walk in the road?

If a sidewalk is provided then a pedestrian has to use it but if there is no sidewalk, they can walk on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic. And, remember that a pedestrian is not aloud to stand in the road and solicit a ride. These are basic things that pedestrians need to know and understand because if there's an accident and they are not obeying the law, it will work against them.
