The one place where more cycling accidents occur is at an intersection. This would include the driver who is turning left that cuts off the cyclist, a driver coming out of a driveway, or the driver is proceeding through an intersection at a light or from a stop sign.
The reason these accidents happen so often is typically because the driver doesn't see the cyclist. Or if they have seen them, they think they can beat them because they have simply misjudged how quickly the cyclist was moving. Regardless of the reason why the accident occurred, the driver is responsible. The law holds them responsible and they have the greater responsibility to prevent an accident from happening. A cyclist who has been injured in an intersection is entitled to seek compensation when something like this happens.
